π€Tip: Letter Manager enables you to create mail merge templates to generate letters. Permissions to access the Letter Manager in Synergy Case Management must be enabled in Synergy Case Management, Security Manager, Security Groups, and Letter Template Manager.
Follow the steps to create your letter heading-
Sign in to Synergy Client Case Management.β
Click Letter Manager within the Administration and Tools group.
Click Create Header File within the Letter Manager group.
Click the Create Header button to create a mail merge header file containing the required person mail merge fields. If new mail merge fields are made available, a new mail merge header file will need to be created, and the fields added manually by mapping your letter templates to the new header file.β
The Save As dialogue will be displayed, enabling you to navigate to and save the PersonHeader.txt file in the required location. The file name can be changed if required.
Click Manage Templates within the Letter Manager Group on the ribbon to open Manage Letter Templates in a new tab.β
Click Add within the Letter Templates group on the ribbon to add a new letter template.β
Click the required Letter Type from the drop-down list.
Letter Types are created in Synergy Case Management, System Manager, Lookup Editor, Core Case Management, and Letter Type.β
Enter the letter Name into the free text field. This is the name that will appear in Synergy Case Management.β
In the Response Due field, enter the number of calendar days within which a response to the letter is due, if applicable. This can be overridden when a letter is produced if required.β
Click the required Default Category in the drop-down list if the letter in context belongs to a specific Running Record category.β
In the Template field, click the ellipsis button to navigate to and select the required letter. If a letter template has been amended, for example, new mail merge fields added or the letter text amended, the letter will need to be reselected in the Letter Manager for the changes to be seen in Case Management.β
Click Save.
πNote: Mail-merge letters can be generated either from the Synergy Case Management Event menu based on the letter type and mail merge template, or where a next step action in a form requires a letter to be created.
