You can set up EYPP weighting types to ensure eligible children receive the correct additional funding. The setup differs for each funding type (3/4 year olds, 2 year olds, and 9 month-2 year olds) based on which hours receive EYPP payment.

EYPP provides additional funding up to 15 hours per week (570 hours per year) for eligible children. The weighting rates you configure determine how much providers receive per hour.

Create the EYPP weighting type

  1. Click FIS β†’ Admin β†’ Funding β†’ Weighting Types.

  2. Enter the Code (e.g. 'EYPP').

  3. Enter the Weighting Type description (e.g. 'Early Years Pupil Premium).

  4. Select the Child radio button to set the weighting type.

  5. Click Add to add a new row to the Weighting Details table.

  6. Select the Year / Term from the drop-down list.

  7. Select the Funding Type from the drop-down list.

  8. Click OK.

πŸ“ŒNote: You'll need to repeat steps 5-8 for each term and funding type combination.

Set EYPP rates for 3/4 year olds

For 3 and 4 year olds, EYPP only applies to the first 15 Funded hours, even if the child receives 30 hours total.

  1. In the Funded Rate Per Session field, enter your EYPP rate (e.g. Β£1.00).

  2. In the Expanded / Extended Rate Per Session field, enter 0.00.

  3. Click Save.

Result:

  • Children claiming Funded hours only β†’ EYPP on Funded hours

  • Children claiming Expanded hours only β†’ EYPP on Expanded hours

  • Children claiming both β†’ EYPP on Funded hours (priority), maximum 15 hours/week total

Set EYPP rates for 9 month-2 year olds

For 9 month-2 year olds, EYPP applies to Expanded hours only. The system calculates EYPP proportionally if the child claims more than 15 hours per week.

  1. In the Funded Rate Per Session field, enter 0.00.

  2. In the Expanded / Extended Rate Per Session field, enter your EYPP rate (e.g. Β£1.00).

  3. Click Save.

Result:

  • Children claiming ≀15 Expanded hours/week β†’ EYPP on all hours

  • Children claiming >15 Expanded hours/week β†’ EYPP calculated proportionally on first 15 hours/week

πŸ€“Tip: The system automatically calculates the proportional split. You don't need to manually work this out.
