Catchment Areas are an optional set of map files that can be used within the Admissions system to determine School Catchment Areas for a child.

The catchment areas for a child are calculated by taking the grid references stored against the child's Admissions address and plotting them on the Catchment Layers that have been configured.

Map files and catchment areas can be viewed within the Synergy Client's Admissions application:

  1. Open Admissions within the Synergy Client.

  2. Select GIS Query on the toolbar.

  3. Populate an address and select a round.

  4. To view catchment areas, select the Catchment Areas tab and click Display Catchment Areas.

πŸ“ŒNote: If the incorrect catchment is being returned and the map files' catchment border is wrong, then new catchment files need to be produced.
