There are two possible ways that a child's funding would be split between two funders: either the child is spending time between providers at the same time, or full-time at one provider, then moving to a different provider.

Attending both providers

If the child is attending both providers at once, each provider should submit the number of weekly hours the child is attending at their setting. There is a function within FIS to check the total of these hours and ensure that they do not exceed the weekly maximum.

Moving between providers

If the child has moved from one provider to another during the term, the provider must each enter the number of hours and weeks the child was attending, but also, they must make sure to change the Funding Attendance dates to reflect when the child left or joined within the term.

⚠️Warning: The sets of dates for the two providers mustn't overlap.

If a termly maximum is set, there is also a function that checks the total number of weeks per provider to ensure they don't add up to more than the termly total.

Stretched and non-stretched funding

If one of the funder's claims is stretched when adding the weekly or termly hours together, the validation will use the highest value.

For example, if stretched allows 11 hours per week, and non-stretched allows 15, a child will be allowed a maximum of 11 hours at the provider with stretched funding, but is only allowed a total of 15 hours across the two providers if the other is using non-stretched funding.
