Within FIS, a warning or error message is expected to appear if a child's date of birth is out of the range of being eligible for funding.

If you have a record that is out of the range, but you're not getting a warning or error, the cause is commonly due to the setup of the funding years and terms.

Funding settings

  1. Click System Manager.

  2. Click Options.

  3. Expand FIS.

  4. Click Funding.

Under Check Eligible Date of Birth, check that either Warning or Error is selected.

Funding Year/Term

Next, you'll have to check the settings for the year or term.

  1. Open FIS.

  2. Click Admin.

  3. Click Funding.

  4. Click Funding Year/Term.

  5. Open your year or term record.

The years are already set up in the system for the Provider Headcounts function to work. At the top of the screen, note down the value in the Academic Year box.

Eligible DOB form

Finally, you need to check the settings for the Eligible DOB form.

  1. Open FIS

  2. Click Admin.

  3. Click Funding.

  4. Click the Eligible DOB form.

The year showing in the Academic Year column needs to be set to match the year you noted from the Funding Year/Term screen.
